Winchester 1894 Takedown Rifle in 38-55 w/ Tools --Early Production--

Model 1894 Winchester Sporting Rifle in caliber 38-55 with special order takedown frame. Low pre-1898 serial number is in the 12,000 range. Comes with a set of original Winchester tools consisting of 38-55 bullet mold and 38-55 reloading tool. Standard original sights include semi-buckhorn rear and front with German silver blade. Early features on this rifle include the two-line Winchester barrel address and m'fr, model, and Browning patent date on the upper tang. This is a nice original rifle that is 100% original with no alterations or modifications. Will it letter? Yes! We called the BBHC in Cody, WY which houses the original Winchester records and they were able to provide us with the following factory information:

Overall condition is in NRA Antique Excellent Condition with 85% original blue on the frame, 95% on the bolt. Loading port shows 80% original fire blue barrel has 93% original blue while the magazine tube shows some flaking with 70% original blue remaining. Lever retains 50% original case colors while hammer has 85% remaining. Original walnut stocks are excellent showing very little in the way of handling wear and still retain 90% original varnish. Excellent mechanics. Bore has decent rifling with some scattered pits. Fair+ to Good- overall. Needs a good cleaning. Reloading tools are in Fine to Excellent Condition and should make for a nice display alongside this rifle.
