This is a nice late 19th century studio photograph of a man holding an 1873 Winchester carbine. The man's name appears to be Isa or Ira Harrington...as that's what it says on the back of the photo. He's wearing buckskin pants and fringed jacket with what appear to be Native American designs. The 1873 carbine he's holding is in nearly perfect condition and appears to have a stepped frame so its probably a 38-40 caliber or possibly even a rare trapper carbine...the end of the barrel out of the photo however. The photo is in good condition oeverall with the exception of the 3 corners are missing and the bottom of the studio card has been cut (probably from being placed in a frame). We don't find many photographs of subjects holding Winchester carbines and this one is prominently displayed in a nice large photograph.
