This is an original 1870's era Royal Irish Constabulary Revolver (RIC) revolver which was retailed through the famed WW GREENER store located at 68 Haymarket in London.  Greener is quite well known for their shotguns but they also retailed many other types of firearms through their London store. Aside from these markings located on the topstrap, there are only English Proofmarks. The sturdy design of these early Webley's made these a very popular sidearm with many of the British and Colonial Police forces throughout the world not to mention the RIC.  Stores like Greener sold many of these to British Military officers who had to furnish their own sidearms...in fact I've seen these with ownership to British Shipping Lines where they were issued to Pursers.  Probably the most famous American owner of these guns was George Armstrong Custer who is believed to been wearing a pair of RIC's when he was killed at Little Bighorn on June 25, 1876.    Bore and cylinders measure .45" and cylinder length 1.22" long so I'm going to make a guess that this is probably chambered in Caliber .450 Boxer.  3 1/2" round barrel, checkered walnut grips, early non-fluted cylinder, and lanyard ring.  Overall, this RIC could use a careful cleaning but remains in NRA Antique Good+ to Very Good.  Original ejector housing and lanyard ring are intact.  The frame retains 30% original blue with the balance of the metal turned to a gray/brown patina.  Checkered wood grips are solid with worn but fairly decent checkering....no chips, no cracks, and no repairs...these are good solid grips.  The action works correctly in both single and double action modes.  Bore has good rifling with a few typical black powder pits....good overall.  Not mint, just a good honest example of an early Webley RIC.
