This original Civil War era Sling was found on an old Model 1861 Springfield 3 Band Rifle/Musket.  It has the early style single brass hook and marked "Watervliet Arsenal" on the inside.  For its age, its in remarkable condition with no tears, splits, or repairs to the leather.  Overall, good condition and one of a very few Civil War era slings we've ever found intact.
