This is a Model 1 1/2, 2nd Issue S&W tip-up revolver in Caliber .32 rimfire and 5 shot cylinder. This one has blued finish, case colored hammer, and attractive pearl grips . The 2nd issue was built from 1868 to 1875 and shared the same continued serial range as its predecessor the 1st issue (1865-1868). Serial number is in the 102,000 range.
Overall condition is NRA Antique Fine++ to Excellent retaining 85% bright blue on the frame mixed with some brown speckles, 50% cylinder, and 40% barrel blue. The hammer still has 80% vivid case colors remaining. Pearl grips look to be quite old and original to 1 1/2, but are probably not the original ones to this gun...they are a tad over-sized along the straps and little under the metal at the butt. That said, they're fantastic grips with no chips, repairs, or serious cracks. One little scratch or could be a minor crack at the top of upper right grip...very minor and looks more visible in the photos than it does in person. I didn't even notice it until I looked at the pictures. Good working action. Bore is in Good shape...but a little frosty. Barrel to frame lockup has the usual amount of wiggle or play at the hinge. A nice nice example of a 1 1/2 in well above average condition with attractive Mother of Pearl grips.
