S&W Model 1-1/2 Single Action -Blued w/ Marbled Grips-

Smith and Wesson Model 1-1/2 in .32 caliber with 3" barrel. Built from 1878-1892, this was Smith and Wesson's first .32 caliber revolver using the top-break action. It featured a spur trigger and automatic ejectors on the cylinder. This one is in the scarcer blued finish which S&W would sometimes pair with their special marbled red and black gutta percha grips. Barrel has numerous S&W patents running from 1865 up through 1878. The numbers are matching.

Overall condition grades to NRA Antique Fine overall with 35% original blue on frame, 50% on the barrel, and 25% on the cylinder overall with 80% oiginal case colors on the hammer. Excellent screws and pins throughout. Front sight and ejector star retain 80% and 95% of their original nickel plate respectively. The marbled grips would be excellent overall but there is a repair to the left grip along the back edge leading up the backstrap that was chipped out. See photo. Good S&W monograms on each panel. Excellent bore with strong mechanics. A decent example of an early S&W topbreak with the blued/marble grips package...a scarcer and pleasing combination of finishes. Antique, pre-1898.
