This is a strong example of an early Smith & Wesson DA Pocket Revovler. The 4th Model was produced from 1895-1909 with pre-1898 antiques under SN# 382,000. This one is in the 350,000 range. Caliber .38 S&W. Five-shot cylinder, 3-1/4" barrel. Nickel finish. Checkered hard rubber grips. Numbers are all matching. It has the later style barrel address with the 1880, 1882, and 1889 patent dates as well as the S&W logo on the right side of the frame.
Overall Condition grades to NRA Antique Excellent with 98% original nickel plating. Good case colors on the hammer and trigger. Trigger guard, barrel latch, and ejector star retain 70%, 80%, and 75% original blue respectively. Excellent screws and pint. Checkered hard rubber grips are Excellent with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Action is in Excellent condition. Bore is Very Good.
