This is an early S&W Baby Russian with a low serial number in the 200 range. Caliber 38 S&W. Standard 3 1/4" barrel, nickel finish, and mother of pearl grips. Overall, the metal retains 80% original nickel finish with the balance flaked and turned over to a smooth brown patina from one side panel of the frame and most of the straps. Traces of case colors remain on the hammer and most of the original blue is present on the barrel latch. Mother of Pearl grips are still bright white that are just starting to yellow from the edges. Left grip is perfect while right grip has a chip and a crack running at the top next to the frame. Nice barrel markings range from 1865 to 1871. Nice working action and bright shiny bore with sharp rifling and a few pits. A decent early Baby Russian Revolver with a very low number.
