S&W 1st Model DA Revolver in .44 Russian

Standard Smith and Wesson 1st Model Double Action in caliber .44 S&W Russian. Serial number is in the 45,000 range. Features include 6" barrel, nickel finish, and checkered hard rubber grips. Numbers are all matching on the frame, barrel, latch, and cylinder. See photos.

Overall, NRA Antique Good Plus Condition with 15-20% original nickel plating remaining on the frame with balance turned to a gray patina...a few pinprick pits on the left sideplate; otherwise, metal looks fairly smooth. Gripstraps retain 60% original nickel. Barrel and cylinder have turned to a gray patina. Checkered hard rubber grips are in Good Condition with the checkering a worn down in places. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Action is in Good working order and indexes properly. Barrel locks up to frame fairly well with a hint of play. Good+ bore with strong lands and grooves. Nice solid example of a big topbreak Smith and Wesson that is 100% all original.
