Original Photograph of armed Hunter with Savage Rifle

This is a late 19th century to early 20th century photo of a proud hunter posing with his Savage Model 1895 or 1899 rifle.  If you look closely, you can see it has a crescent buttplate and the long style early rear sight that's identical to the Marlin Ballard rear sight. After all, Marlin built the first Savage rifles.  He's also wearing what appears to be a Mills cartridge belt around his waist and check out the derby! The backdrop appears to be a white sheet or tarp draped against the side of a barn.  Interestingly enough, you can see some large barrels with iron hoops off in the background.  Finally, last but not least...we also know his name...the back of the photo has his name pencilled in as Aaron Hosteter.  If you belong to Ancestry.com, you can probably look him up in the census records and find where he was from and what his occupation was.  Photo measures 4" x 4" with a corner torn away.  Aside from the corner, it's in good condition.
