This is an old photograph in its original frame showing a hunter proudly posing with his Winchester Model 1886 or 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine. The carbine appears to have a special order shotgun buttplate and the photo is good enough to see the outline of the Winchester logo in the center of the hard rubber buttplate. This photo is in "as found" condition right out of the attic so its dirty and the glass facing is cracked. The frame is made of wood and painted black and shows a great patina. One look at the mounts and the wire on the back and you'll know...this is very old...probably from the late 19th or early 20th century (Pre-1920). We haven't removed the photo from the frame but the photo itself appears to be about 8-9" x 11-12" while the old frame measures 10.25" x 13.5".
