Near Mint condition Mauser Model 1895 Rifle in 7mm manufactured by Ludwig Loewe of Berlin, Germany. Complete with cleaning rod, military sights, and sling swivels. This one has a lot of extra candy to go with it including...the original issue bayonet, leather sling, and brass muzzle cover. This particular rifle was part of a contract shipped to Chile with the Chilean National Crest on both the receiver and the stock. The Boers in South Africa used the same rifle during the Boer Wars. In fact, can recall reading that a number of ones destined for the OVS and/or ZAR ended up in Chile when they failed to get through the British Naval Blockade. The rifle has All matching numbers throughout. The bayonet is original issue and numbered to its scabbard but not numbered to this rifle ....can't say I can recall ever seeing one that was.
Overall condition is NRA Antique Excellent Plus Condition. The metal retains 99.9% original blue. Bolt release, magazine charger, springs, and screws still retain 95-99% original vivid fire blue. Bolt still has its bright polish showing no signs of rust or corrosion. The stock is in Fine+ condition showing just only light handling and a few dings...which most nice 1895's seem to have in common. No cracks, chips, or repairs. Chilean crest is Excellent and very sharp with a perfect "1895" inspection date. Perfect action and Mint bore. There aren't many 19th antique rifles built by high quality Makers like Mauser out on the market that can be found in such high condition within this price range.
