Colt US Model 1894 DA Army Revolver

This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1894 Double Action Army revolver that was sold to the US Army towards the end of the year 1895. Unlike most early examples, this one was never upgraded to the Model 1901 with the lanyard ring added to base of the grip. US Inspector Ronaldo A. Carr has his inspection approval markings on the frame and cylinder with sub-inspector marks on most of the various parts.  Barrel has the Ordnance Proof "P" with sub-inspector's initial "K".  Serial number is in the 67,000 range with the last four digits matching on the latch, frame, cylinder crane, side plate, and walnut grips.  Overall Condition grades to NRA Antique Fine+ with 70% thinning original blue. Trigger shows 30% original fire blue.  Rear profile of the hammer has 70% original fire blue with the original "in the white" brightly polished profiles still showing some lustre . Walnut grips are solid with no chips or cracks. Cartouche is worn but visible on the lower right grip. Good mechanics and bore. Nice example of an historic antique pre-1898 Colt DA that could have seen use in the Spanish-American War.
