This is a good example of an 1890's vintage Colt Single Action Revolver.Serial number is in the 164,000 range which dates this revolver's year of manufacture to 1896. Caliber .45 Colt, 5 1/2" barrel, checkered hard rubber grips, and originally had a blued & case colored finish. Overall, the metal has turned to a grey to light brown patina with remnants of silvery case colors in the protected areas of the frame and traces of original blue underneath the barrel along the ejector housing. Nice markings with correct 1 line barrel address and good screws overall. Checkered hard rubber grips are solid with no chips or cracks showing moderate wear to the checkering. The intitials "L.E." are cut into the bottom of the left grip panel. Action works flawlessly with all 4 Clicks C--O--L--T when the hammer is cocked. Bore is in good condition with decent rifling.
