This is a nice example of a Colt New Line Revolver made in 1875. SN# is in the 5,XXX range. Caliber is 30 Rimfire. Five-shot cylinder. 2-1/4" barrel with a perfect etched panel on left side that reads Colt New 30. Nice Colt barrel address and "30 CAL" stamped on the frame just behind the recoil shield above the cartridge funnel. Original nickel finish with fire blued appointments and highly varnished rosewood grips. Overall condition grades to NRA Antique Excellent with 95% original nickel plating with some frosting on the barrel. Front of cylinder and muzzle show no pitting or rust commonly found on 19th century black powder revolvers. Screws have most of their original fire blue intact with smaller degrees remaining on the cylinder pin and trigger. Hammer has 97% original fire blue on its back with both profiles retaining 95% of their original bright polish. Rosewood grips are excellent with 94% original piano varnish remaining. Very nice bore with excellent mechanics. Not many Colts from the 1870's that can be acquired in Excellent condition in today's market for just a few hundred dollars. These New Lines make great investments!
