Colt .38 Double Action Revolver with early antique serial number in the 78,000 range. This revolver was made in 1897. 6" round barrel with checkered hard rubber grips, and blued finish. Barrel address has excellent markings with 1884, 1888, and 1895 patent dates. Overall condition is NRA Antique Excellent with 95% original blue on frame, 90% cylinder, and 97% on barrel. Only flaws are a couple of pencil-eraser sized spots on the front of the frame where there are some light pits from poor storage. Sides of hammer still show most of their bright polish with fire blue across the top. Trigger and screws retain most of their original fire blue as well. Checkered hard rubber grips are perfect. . Nice action and a good bore. Nice example of a Colt DA with an antique serial number. These make great investments as there aren't any antique large-frame Colt Models out there you can buy in Excellent condition for just a few hundred dollars.
