This is an early tinted pair of sharpshooter's or eye glasses. As you will note by its design, these are not your avg pair of mid-nineteenth century reading glasses with some tinted glass added. The sides are adjustable and slide to accommodate different sized people. At the end of each arm is a ring for attaching a lanyard or necklace to be carried about the neck. With the extendable arms in the stowed position, they fold up in a nice compact arrangement. The lenses are a light green tint. We took a couple extra photos away from our usual blue backdrop in order to give a better idea of the true shade. Lens have some light scratches. The furniture is made of iron. A nice pair of Civil War era shooting glasses.
