This is a very nice example of a "Southerner" Single Shot Pistol that was made by Brown Manufacturing of Newburyport, Mass. These were manufactured in the late 1860's following the Civil War. Serial number is in the 1,3XX range. Caliber .41 Rimfire with 2.5" octagonal barrel, brass frame, and rosewood grips. Overall Condition is Fine Plus with 75% thinning original barrel blue. Case colors on hammer have silvered with hints of color in protected areas. Excellent markings. Brass frame has a great untouched patina and contrasts nicely with the barrel blue. Fine screws and pins. Very Good grips with nice wood to metal fit and no chips, cracks, or repairs. Good mechanics. Ejector is intact and working. Good bore. It's seldom we see these Southerners with any original finish as most show considerable carry wear. It's nice to find one for a change in well above average condition.
