This is a beautiful example of a Pre-1898 Model 1895 Mauser Rifle in 7mm with the original leather sling. This Rifle was part of a late 19th century contract for the country of Chile. The rifle bears the Chilean crest on the top of the receiver and the stock. It was manufactured by Ludwig Loewe of Berlin in 1895. 100% all matching numbers including the bolt and the cleaning rod. Overall condition is NRA Antique EXCELLENT PLUS PLUS Condition with 98% bright original blue with just slight wear on a couple of the extreme edges of the metal. The bolt retains 99% of its bright original polish. Bolt release lever, magazine charger, and sight elevator have 96% bright original fire blue. Screws and band spring have all of their original fire blue. Excellent wood that is untouched with only a few minor handling marks...never sanded...original finish with an excellent Chilean cartouche and crisp matching serial number. Original Chilean sling is in Very Good condition. For such a high quality 19th century antique, these Minty 1895's represent one of the best values on the market today.
