This is a near perfect example Mauser's contract to Chile in 7mm. We've had a couple that may have been just a hair better overall but never one with such an attractive tiger-striped curly walnut stock.  Manufactured by Ludwig Loewe of Berlin in 1895, this bolt action Mauser was built to a high standard of quality with amazing fit and finish that far surpasses their war-time production guns of the 20th century.  All numbers are matching on this rifle right down to the cleaning rod (yes, that includes the bolt as well).  Overall condition is NRA Excellent Plus condition.  The metal is Minty retaining 99%+ original blued finish on the action, barrel, and steel furniture.  The bolt still shows all of its bright polish while the bolt release, magazine charge, trigger, sight adjustment, and screws show nearly all of their original vivid tempered fire blue. Rear sight spring still shows all of its straw tempering as well.  The action is perfect and the bore is MINT!  The wood is in Fine+++ condition overall...completely untouched retaining 98% of its original oil finish...just a few knicks and bruises in the wood from being stored in a rack during its military life...nonetheless, this gun appears to never have been unissued. Nice sharp edges with fantastic strips running from the buttplate all the way to the front barrel band.  Stock is even numbered to the gun. Nice Chilean crest on top of receiver and left side of stock dated "1895".  For a 111 year old rifle, this is as about as nice as they come.  Furthermore, in the world of high dollar collectible grade antique guns, I can't think of a nicer gun in Minty condition you can buy for the money!
