This is an early Model 1894 Winchester rifle in 30 WCF w/ standard 26" obfmcb. Has its original 2 leaf-platinum-lined rear Express sight coupled with Lyman folding Tang and Front sights. Nice combination. This rifle looks like it was someone's favorite hunting gun for many years. Early Antique Serial Number. Mfd in 1898. Nice early markings and very good screws overall. Barrel has two-line address and upper tang has Mfr, Model, and Patent Date. Hammer has the early checkering with dipped border. Overall, NRA Antique Fine Condition with 75-80% original blue on frame, barrel, and magazine tube. Strong traces of fire blue on the loading port. Case colors on hammer, lever, and buttplate, have mostly worn to silver. Wood shows lots of character wear from being handled out in the woods by a hunter...but solid...never cleaned or refinished. Stock shows about 25% original varnish. Nice wood to metal fit. Action works nicely and bore is in Fine condition with sharps lands and grooves and no signs of pitting. A good solid 1894 rifle with extra sights, nice original blue, and an early antique serial number. A lot of Winchester for the money!
