This is a Winchester 1876 Rifle aka the "Centennial Model" that was made in the year 1883.  Standard Sporting Rifle configuration with 28" Octagon Barrel, Full Magazine, and Crescent rifle buttplate with trapdoor.  Caliber is 45-60.  Serial number is in the 36000 range.  Overall Condition is NRA Antique Fine Plus with 60% thinning original blue that stretches across the entire receiver...just thinned out from honest use.  There are still original case colors on the hammer, traces on the lever, and 50% fire blue on the loading port.  The barrel and magazine tube have 50% thinning blue with the balance turning to a brown patina.  Nice markings throughout with a crisp "45-60 CAL" in script on the bronze loading block.  Decent screws. Original sights.  The wood is in Very Good condition overall with nice wood to metal fit.  Forend has what looks like some slight pommel wear from being carried across a saddle on horseback.  Good mechanics and a pretty good bore...good rifling, no rings or bulges, and a few light pits....not bad for an 1880's vintage 76.  A nice example of a 76 in a large caliber with the desirable octagon barrel and some good original finish.
