1860 Colt Percussion Revolver in .44 Caliber.  8" barrel, 6 shot cylinder, and all matching numbers.  Made in 1862. This gun was purchased by the Union during the Civil War and bears small US inspectors initials on various parts.  The metal has worn to a grey brown patina overall with fairly decent markings.  The cylinder has 10-15% roll engraved scene still visible. The grips are original and in good condition with tight wood to metal fit, not undersized, with two small chips at bottom front of grips commonly associated with these guns.  No inspectors initials are visible due to holster wear.  Action works well and barrel/frame fit is tight with no play or wobbles.  It looks like it saw a lot of action in the Civil War and survived as a good solid example of a .44 Caliber percussion Colt.
