This is a 4th Model Colt Navy Revolver in .36 Caliber.  Made in about the middle of 1862 during the Civil War.  It was sold on the civilian market but chances are good this one saw the war tucked in a cavalryman's or officer's holster.  Numbers are 100% all matching depending on which wedge you use.  The gun will come with its original wedge that's been trimmed down off the ends.  It also comes with a non-original replacement wedge that's been numbered to the gun and looks much better for display.  See photos.  Barrel is marked with the New York Address.  Cylinder scene is about 10%.  Overall, NRA Antique Good condition with metal turned to a brown patina overall.  Good markings.  Frame shows some numerous dings on both sides below the cylinder.   Screws are decent overall.  Barrel to frame lockup is tight.  Nice working action.  Good bore...has strong rifling with some scattered pits.  Grips are Very Good with 15% original varnish remaining.  Nice wood to metal fit with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  A small number "22" is stamped on the lower left side of the grip.  A good representative '51 Navy from the Civil War.
